WHAT THE RAILWAYS GAVE US

This is the viral we are starting to put round about to galvanise a bit of interest about the book.
What's amazing to observe is just how closely those strings of lights across the great landmasses mirror the paths of the transcontinental railways.
Basically it was the railways that drove the industrial revolution and enabled people to settle inland.

  1. Very pleased to follow this now I have found it. Mark has done an excellent job. Railway cartography has had some books (think Capital Transport publications on London) but there is room for so much more and about the allied subject of railway publicity. Posters are well served but for the rest, there is still so much more to say. I have many spares from the huge Forsythe Collection placed at National Railway Museum which I also blog about. The spares and other leads can be found from http://www.specialistauctions.com/shop.php?userid=101813 .
